The pitman family

The Pitman Family.

There are few things I love more than documenting life’s chapters as they unfold — and this family’s journey has been one of the most heartfelt stories I’ve had the honour of capturing. From photographing their wedding day to their first newborn session, and now seeing them as a family of five with beautiful triplets, it’s been a joy to witness their love evolve.

We met at Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West — one of my favourite hidden gems for natural light family photography. The towering trees, soft forest light, and open spaces created the perfect backdrop for a morning filled with curiosity, chaos, and connection. The kids climbed logs, discovered treasures on the forest floor, and giggled their way through every frame. Their parents embraced it all — the noise, the wriggling, the wonder — with calm and grace.

These are the kinds of sessions that remind me why I do what I do. It’s never just about the perfect photo. It’s about preserving a feeling — the wild, fleeting, golden rhythm of life with little ones.
